In a rural district of Eastern Trinidad on April 17, 1952, Mr. Sookoo was born to a family of six siblings and came from humble beginnings. His arrival coincided with his parents’ acquisition of a new home, providing ample space for play and fostering a close-knit familial environment.

After obtaining his School Leaving Certificate, he then graduated with a distinction in Business Administration and Accounting at St. Andrews College where he became a teacher. His next job as an Estate Accountant and Paymaster allowed his managerial prowess to shine as he gained the trust of employees and acted as a liaison between them and the company’s leadership.

He eventually sought employment as a chauffeur to a discerning businessman. His dedication to this job did not go unnoticed and within a mere three months he gained a role in the Accounting Department and was promoted shortly after to Company Supervisor. His proactive initiatives to bolster the business led to further recognition, culminating in his appointment as the company’s manager.

With the knowledge gained and relationships fostered, the entrepreneurial journey began, firstly as a part-time business which rapidly expanded to accommodate a growing clientele which started with one company and flourished into a Group of seven subsidiaries.

Mr. Sookoo, the Founder now proudly sits as the President and Executive Chairman of the Multi Group of Companies, a family-oriented business governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the second generation. The Group spans across multiple industries, from consumer goods and food distribution to logistics, trade relations, and security solutions. Each company under the Group is committed to delivering excellence, innovation, and high-quality services to our customers and partners
